Experience life as a furniture maker for two days and join us at our beautiful rustic barn tucked away in the valley that houses Corton Denham and Sandford Orcas.

Within this workshop you will learn: how to make one of our beautiful solid wood stools as featured in Elle Decoration magazine and get a better understanding of the tools we use and why.

The day will start with a hot cup of coffee (or tea)! and a tool safety lesson by Jamie. We will give you a tour of our makers' space and the beautiful surrounding countryside, then it's on to the making!

Whether you are an intermediate maker or a complete beginner this course will be perfect for you - both myself and Jamie will talk you through each step and give you as much help as you require.

Tea, coffee and cake will be available on both days. We don't have set breaks so whenever you feel like you need to step back and put your feet up or take a lovely stroll down to the stream you're more than welcome to do so.

At lunch time we encourage you to take a one hour break and enjoy your packed lunch either outside in the sunshine (weather permitting as this is Dorset, England) or by our delightful log burner. There is also a cosy country pub just a five minute drive from the workshop that sells great pub lunches.

At the end of the course you can take your beautiful bespoke handmade stool home with you to finish in an oil of your choice.

Please Note: This is a non refundable workshop. Please make sure before you purchase your spot that you are available for the dates listed. In the case of illness, we are more than happy to transfer you on to our next workshop, or feel free to sell your spot to someone else.

Prices: £300pp this workshop has a maximum of two spaces available. It makes a perfect gift or a great course for two friends.

If you are looking for accommodation we would recommend The Queens Arms which is only a five minute drive from our workshop - A quintessentially English Georgian Inn, in a gloriously rural setting, with the gently rolling landscape on the Dorset/ Somerset Hills. A pilgrimage for foodies – note their own smallholding (Pigs, Cows and Hens). Snuggle up in front of the roaring open fire with newspapers, pint and a homemade pork pie – oodles of rustic charm.
